A Birthday Photoshoot in Paris for Isaiah
Celebrating 18 Years in Paris: A Birthday Portrait Session
There’s something magical about celebrating a milestone in Paris—especially one as special as an 18th birthday. When Rebekah reached out to schedule an 18th birthday photoshoot in Paris for her son, we were immediately excited! Rebekah wanted a mix of birthday portraits for her son, Isaiah, and a few relaxed family photos to remember the day by.
As always, Paris is the perfect backdrop for a photoshoot. Your Paris Photographer, Nicolas, met them at Pont de Bir Hakeim, perfect for an 18th-birthday photoshoot in Paris. The Bir Hakeim bridge has everything you’d want for a photoshoot in Paris! There are several great vantage points where you can see the Eiffel Tower, gorgeously symmetrical pillars holding up the bridge, and perfectly Parisian architecture in the background.

A Birthday to Remember
Eighteen is such a big birthday. It’s the middle place between endings and beginnings, full of possibility and hope, while also being bittersweet as it’s the end of childhood. Marking the occasion with a portrait session for Isaiah that felt mature and celebratory was a perfect way to show who he is at this moment in his life before he sets out on new adventures.
Nicolas met up with Rebekah and family in the late afternoon. For the first half of the session, they focused on individual portraits of the birthday boy, literally, the photoshoot was on his birthday! He had a quiet confidence in front of the camera—relaxed but present and with the cool air of a brand new 18-year old.
Moving along the Bir Hakeim bridge allowed Nicolas to photograph Isaiah against several backgrounds.

A Family United by Joy
After plenty of solo shots, the mom and dad joined in for a few group portraits. There’s something truly special about photographing families with older kids. The dynamics shift—there’s more collaboration, more personality, and a deeper sense of shared history. Nicolas took a few photos of the group walking under the iconic Bir Hakeim bridge and with the Eiffel Tower in the background, of course.

A Photoshoot with Style
What to wear for a summer photoshoot on a hot day in Paris? Take a cue from Rebekah and her family! They struck the perfect balance between comfort and style for their Paris photoshoot.
The birthday boy Isaiah kept things classic with a black t-shirt and jeans. This look is simple and timeless and photographs perfectly against the city’s iconic backdrops. Rebekah added a pop of Parisian flair with a navy-and-white striped shirt and a vibrant red skirt. Her outfit was a perfect nod to the city’s effortless chic style. Dad opted for a short-sleeve button-down and tailored shorts, keeping cool without sacrificing polish.
All three wore sneakers, which was a smart choice for walking between locations while maintaining a casual, coordinated vibe. Their outfits not only reflected their personalities but also worked seamlessly with the warm summer light and the timeless elegance of Paris.

Why Paris Is the Perfect Place for a Milestone
Whether it’s an anniversary, a reunion, or an 18th birthday, Paris has a way of elevating every occasion. There’s a sense of magic here that makes every celebration feel bigger, brighter, and more beautiful. For Rebekah and her family, combining their vacation with a birthday photoshoot in Paris gave her family not only wonderful memories but also timeless images they’ll cherish for years to come.
Photographing this family was a reminder of why we love what we do. Yes, we’re capturing faces and places—but more importantly, we’re capturing connection.

To anyone planning a trip to Paris to celebrate something meaningful—whether it’s a birthday, an engagement, or simply a long-awaited vacation—consider capturing it with a portrait session.
